Cut Print Solutions, operating out of Jarrow Business Centre has strengthened its production capabilities with a new wave of investment designed to bring more work in‑house and support its rapid expansion.
Cut Print Solutions, founded in 2023 by husband‑and‑wife team Stephen and Margaret Downey, has made two major additions to its finishing department following a surge in demand for its products and services. The company recently installed a Veloblade Nexus, a £67,000 investment completed in August 2025, to enhance its cutting capabilities and improve efficiency across a growing range of work.
Building on this, January 2026 saw the arrival of a Plockmatic VF collator, enabling the business to bring NCR pad production fully in‑house. Previously completed manually, this work was time‑consuming and labour‑intensive; the new equipment significantly accelerates turnaround times and reduces bottlenecks as the business continues to scale.
Speaking about the investment Director Margaret Downey said:
“Our growth over the past year has been incredible and investing in the right equipment that enables us to bring more work in‑house is key to maintaining quality and efficiency. We’re committed to investing in the tools and technology that will help us continue to grow right here in South Tyneside.”
Cut Print Solutions now employs seven staff and continues to broaden its equipment portfolio, which includes wide‑format printers, a hybrid UV flatbed, digital presses, guillotines, self‑feeding plotters and specialist booklet‑making machinery.

The company serves a diverse client base, from print managers and local businesses to online retailers, and is a signatory of the South Tyneside Pledge, an initiative aimed at encouraging businesses to ‘think local’.
With further investment planned in both finishing equipment and workflow software, the business is positioning itself as a growing local employer and an increasingly key player in South Tyneside’s creative economy.
