Location

The site is located on Church Bank in Jarrow 8 miles from both Newcastle upon Tyne and Sunderland city centres. The Port of Tyne’s deep-sea facility at Tyne Dock is immediately adjacent and the Nissan Manufacturing Plant is located less than 6 miles to the south.

Connectivity is excellent with the site situated just off the A185 providing access to the A19 less than 1 mile to the west.

The A19 is one of the main arterial routes running north south though the region linking conurbations to the north of the River Tyne via the Tyne Tunnel with those to the south including Sunderland and Teesside.

Description

The site extends to circa 6.51 acres (2.633 Ha) and is relatively level and regular in shape, benefits from access immediately off Church Bank.

Approximately 5.46 acres (2.17 Ha) of the site was developed by the previous occupier MH Southern for the storage and processing of timber. Much of this remains including several warehouses (mainly open sided) with concrete roadways and external storage areas.

There is an electrical substation situated close to the southern boundary within the site.
