• Setting up for self assessment
• Record keeping
• Tax rates and when payable
• Understanding Trial Balance, Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet
• Tax allowable expenditure

Alan is a results driven Multi Channel Retail / Commercial Operator with 20+ years Senior Leadership experience. He’s grown turnover and profitability across Retail Stores, Wholesale, E Commerce, Export, National Accounts and Travel Retail as well as Franchisee and Distributor Partnerships.

Andrew Potts

Born in South Shields, Andrew is the proud, smiling, friendly face at the head of KP Simpson. He has worked in the Accounting Industry since 1998 and has gained experience through working in different sections of Accounting and Tax.

Andy strives to work with businesses as well as he wields a cricket bat – something he’s pretty good at; Andrew’s a keen cricketer and regularly turns out for Whiteleas and Harton Welfare CC and is keen to support local teams / talents by sponsoring them in various ways.

This session is open to residents of South Tyneside. South Tyneside Council’s business start up service offers residents a chance to explore self employment through access to free resources.
