Castle Complete Major Refurb of Industrial Unit at Boldon Business Park

South Tyneside-headquarted Castle, has completed the full refurbishment of a 50,000 sq ft industrial unit at Didcot Way, Boldon Business Park.

Castle was appointed by UK Land Estates to undertake a category ‘A’ fit out to oversee the conversion to a factory, office and warehouse unit.

The project commenced in April 2025 and completed just prior to Christmas.

The building was formerly occupied by automotive component manufacturer, Faltec UK, who moved to a new facility on the nearby International Advanced Manufacturing Plant.

The project included structural enhancements to the existing portal frame, removal and replacement of all roofing and wall cladding, construction of a modern office accommodation with high-quality internal finishes, mechanical and electrical installations to support efficient operations, loading bay modifications and new roller shutters to enhance logistics flow, external works including service yards, car parking, access roads, compliance with current building regulations, safety standards and energy efficiency targets.

A warehouse area features high bay LED lighting, roof mounted PV, the provision of a new substation with a high-power supply / dedicated 1.8 MVA capacity.
