As TechNExt returns for another year, South Tyneside is playing its part in making the North East’s biggest tech festival better than ever before.
TechNExt’s Schools Challenge will take place at The Customs House, bringing schools from across the North East together to work alongside industry experts to develop an innovative tech-based solution that solves a real-life issue.
It’s a great opportunity for children aged between 9 and 13 to explore how technology can be used to overcome real world problems and explore themes such as online safety, gaming, mental health and welbeing, climate change and AI.

Newcastle
Newcastle will be hosting this year’s Main Stage event at the Crowne Plaza on 16 June and TechNExt’s first Data and AI Hub at The Catalyst on 18 June.
North Tyneside
North Tyneside are hosting TechNExt’s Industry Dinner at Spanish City in Whitley Bay on 17 June.
Northumberland
TechNExt’s first Hub event will be hosted at Northumberland’s Energy Central Learning Hub in Blyth on 17 June.
The Sustainability Hub will highlight the importance of sustainability and innovation within the tech scene and will showcase insight from tech leaders from the North East and further afield.
Gateshead
Gateshead will be hosting two events this year on 19 June.
The Festival Party will be taking place at BALTIC and TechNExt are inviting businesses to join them in celebrating the remarkable achievements of the North East’s tech sector by meeting and catching up with tech enthusiasts from across the UK.
PROTO will also be hosting an event on the banks of the River Tyne for TechNExt’s Immersive Hub which will provide attendees with an insight into the incredible world of cutting edge immersive technologies.
Durham
This year Durham is hosting TechNExt’s Startup Hub on 20 June for startup tech businesses, at all stages of development, to come together to share insights and get advice from leading industry experts.
Sunderland
Tech Talent Live is heading to Sunderland once again for #TechNExt25. The Career Fair hosted at City Hall on 18 June will see the next generation of tech and digital talent come together to be inspired and showcase North East employers to those seeking a role in the sector or who might be thinking about a career in the future.
