South Tyneside manufacturer Cell Pack Solutions is once again helping to light up the North East, with its specialist lithium battery brand Tracer Power providing portable energy for one of the key installations at Durham Lumiere 2025, the UK’s leading light festival.
Following their successful involvement in Lumiere 2023, where Tracer Power supported the popular Diamond Garden installation, the team has returned this year to power artist Aaqib’s Vault of Echoes, a captivating mirrored sculpture situated along Durham’s Riverwalk.
Inspired by the city’s architectural heritage and the bold lines of brutalist design, Vault of Echoes blends intricate geometry with reflective surfaces to create a constantly shifting display of light and perspective. The installation has already drawn attention as one of the festival’s most visually striking artworks.
To bring this ambitious project to life, Tracer Power has supplied its 150Ah Li-Ion Carry Case Kit, delivering safe, freestanding energy throughout the event. The company’s portable power solution removes the need for external wiring or generators, significantly improving event safety by reducing trip hazards and allowing visitors to experience the installation freely from every angle.
“We’re incredibly proud to see our technology powering another world-class creative installation right here in the North East,” said Aaron Adlington, Marketing Manager at Cell Pack Solutions. “Durham Lumiere showcases the very best of art, technology, and innovation, and it’s a privilege to contribute to that through safe, reliable power solutions.”
Tracer Power is widely used across media, utilities, and industrial sectors where dependable portable energy is essential. The brand’s growing involvement in live events and creative projects reflects a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence.

By replacing conventional generators with compact lithium battery systems, Tracer Power is helping event organisers reduce noise, emissions, and disruption in public spaces, contributing to a more sustainable festival environment.
Durham Lumiere runs from 13-15th November 2025. Visitors can find Vault of Echoes along the Riverwalk, where they’ll see the city’s lights reflected in stunning, multi-faceted symmetry.
