A South Shields tree surgery business that started as a one-man operation has grown into an eight-strong team serving customers across the North East as it celebrates its tenth anniversary.
Founded by Simon Forster in 2016, The Tree Fella began by undertaking tree care work across South Shields. As demand grew through word-of-mouth recommendations, the business expanded its services and workforce, establishing a reputation for high-quality arboriculture work across the region.
Over the past decade, the company has achieved Arb Approved Contractor status and become a TrustMark Registered Business, while Simon has also become a Professional Member of the Arboricultural Association.
Today, The Tree Fella employs eight members of staff and provides tree care services to homeowners and commercial clients across South Shields, Newcastle, North Shields, Northumberland, Sunderland and Gateshead.
Simon Forster, Principal Arborist and founder of The Tree Fella said:
“Ten years ago it was just me and a chainsaw, trying to do right by customers one job at a time.
“A decade on, what means the most isn’t how much the business has grown, it’s that we’ve kept the same values we started with.”
The company’s growth has also supported local employment, with long-serving team member Andy Bradley celebrating five years with the business this year.
Reflecting on the milestone, Simon said the focus remains the same as it was in 2016: providing excellent service, caring for trees responsibly and continuing to build on the reputation the business has developed over the last ten years.
As The Tree Fella enters its second decade, the South Shields business is looking forward to building on a decade of steady growth and continuing to serve customers across South Tyneside and the wider North East.
