STOC Good Food is a borough-wide sustainable food partnership working across South Tyneside to improve food security, public health, environmental sustainability and the local food economy. We bring together residents, community organisations, businesses, schools, health services and local authority partners to create a healthier, fairer and more resilient food system.
Using a whole-system approach, STOC Good Food connects local food initiatives, supports community food projects, food poverty prevention programmes, cooking skills education, sustainable catering practices, local supply chain development and climate-friendly food action. We provide strategic coordination, partnership development and practical delivery support to organisations seeking to improve access to affordable healthy food, reduce food waste, promote local food businesses and encourage low-carbon food choices.
Our work includes delivery of the South Tyneside Sustainable Food Action Plan, management of the borough’s Community Food Map, organisation of food skills events and sustainable food festivals, and collaboration with employers and community partners to support employee wellbeing, crisis resilience and healthier lifestyles.
STOC Good Food is part of the national Sustainable Food Places movement, working towards long-term recognition of South Tyneside as a leading sustainable food borough.
