To support its staff, South Tyneside Council provides a range of employer benefits including various schemes to promote a work life balance; hybrid working; childcare benefits scheme; electric pool cars in addition to a pension scheme and commitment to staff training; and health and wellbeing initiatives.
South Tyneside Council has recently partnered with local South Tyneside business NxtGen Wills to provide a free will writing service for employees. The partnership between the two organisations, both of whom have signed up to the South Tyneside Pledge, highlights the local authority’s commitment to champion the Pledge initiative and its focus upon actions that can help boost the local area.
Through the Council’s employee benefits package, Council employees can get a basic will written for free by NxtGenWills, with their partners also receiving a 50% discount. NxtGenWills are an independent will writing company and South Tyneside Pledge organisation, based at the Quadrus Centre in Boldon.
Speaking about the partnership, director Alan Mountford-Brown said:
“I first signed the South Tyneside Pledge as it made real sense to keep business local. As a Hebburn resident I am passionate about helping and supporting local people. It is great to be able to do this under the Council’s employee benefits scheme and it is great to see the Council supporting local small businesses. The South Tyneside Pledge network has also been invaluable in creating new business contacts and forging partnerships.”
Nxtgen Wills has recently joined forces with another South Tyneside Pledge organisation The Health Insurance Group. The collaboration promises to deliver a range of benefits and services spanning personal and business needs, revolutionising how individuals and organisations safeguard their well-being and financial security. The partnership was developed after the two organisations met at a South Tyneside Pledge event.
The South Tyneside Pledge encourages South Tyneside organisations to focus on local activities and take practical steps such as local procurement, volunteering and recruitment, which can help the Borough to thrive. To date, more than 280 organisations have signed up.
