Cell Pack Solutions Achieve Silver level of the Better Health at Work Award

Congratulations to Cell Pack Solutions on achieving the Silver level of the Better Health at Work Award after an incredible year of health campaigns and activities in 2024.  This milestone reflects the South Tyneside Pledge company’s unwavering commitment to prioritising the health and well-being of their staff.

One of the key aims of the South Tyneside Pledge is for organisations to commit to taking small steps to reduce health inequalities. Promoting healthy lifestyles to staff through recognised awards schemes such as the Better Health at Work Award is a way to do this.

During 2024, a team of Health Advocates within Cell Pack Solutions, a leader in custom battery pack manufacture, organised 72 different health activities across 16 campaigns. These included initiatives focused on Health Checks, Financial Wellbeing, Environmental & Sustainability, Equality & Diversity, Physical Activity, and Stress & Mental Health.

Here is a snapshot of just some of the fantastic initiatives that helped the business achieve their Silver Better Health at Work Award:

• A Summer Sleep Study equipped employees with tools and strategies to improve their sleep quality. Over six weeks, participants tracked their sleep patterns, adopted healthier routines, and achieved remarkable results, including a 50% improvement in sleep scores. This initiative highlighted the critical link between rest and overall well-being.
• Women’s health took centre stage with events designed to educate, support, and empower.  Through a partnership with South Tyneside Health Collaboration, staff learned vital information about cancer prevention and screening.
• Giving Back Through Volunteering – staff contributed over 171 hours to local causes. This initiative not only strengthened community ties but also helped foster a sense of purpose and teamwork among employees.
• Staff took part in a range of impactful activities that brought staff together and doubled up as fundraising opportunities for charities including the Relay for Life, Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and a Skydiving Adventure.

The Better Health at Work Award recognises the efforts of employers in addressing health issues within the workplace. The award scheme is FREE, flexible and open to all employers in South Tyneside regardless of size, location or type of business.

Many organisations already promote healthy lifestyles and consider the health of their employees. This Award recognises these achievements of these organisations and help them move forward in a structured and supported way.

Organisations are given up to a year per level, but there is flexibility for those who need it. Every employer/organisation who signs-up to participate in the Award scheme is supported by a dedicated Workplace Health Improvement Specialist.
