Building a Stronger South Tyneside Together
There are today more people of working-age who are economically inactive for reasons of ill-health and disability than ever before. Many employers already have members of their workforce who are living and working with a work-limiting health condition.
Last year the UK Government produced a white paper called Get Britain Working that outlined plans to decrease economic inactivity by helping people with barriers to work to find employment, and support those in the workplace with health-related conditions remain in employment.
For this to work, local employers need to be involved, with the correct support in place.
