To meet net zero carbon commitments, the UK needs to invest in technologies for electrification, meaning many employers and employees will need to up-skill, re-skill and new-skill to meet the emerging demand.

The NEAA, in partnership with North East Institute of Technology (NEIoT), will host this interactive session for industry and education providers to collaborate and collectively address the future skills needs to ensure the UK is at the forefront of the electric revolution.

Industry engagement is vital in shaping the skills and training demand. This session will enable employers to work in partnership with Institute of Technology training providers to steer funding opportunities, whilst learning more about current available training.

You will hear from the leader of the National Skills Delivery for Electrification who will talk about the national plan for electrification skills, which will provide a workforce with the required skills and capabilities to deliver the sectoral technology roadmaps. The session will also look at the regional plan for electrification skills and how the sector can work together to address higher level technical education to help close skills gaps in key STEM areas.

We invite industry to join this event to help shape your emerging skills requirements.

The session is open to all companies in the automotive sector and those in education.
