Behind the Scenes at Dogger Bank Wind Farm: Inspiring Future Talent

Over the past five years, Dogger Bank Wind Farm’s STEM Careers Programme has engaged more than 10,000 young people across South Tyneside through a range of activities designed to build confidence, develop employability skills and inspire future career ambitions.

As part of South Tyneside Council’s Building a Stronger South Tyneside campaign, Dogger Bank Wind Farm is hosting a dedicated session for local employers. The session is aimed at HR leads, and business directors of local firms employing South Tyneside residents.

Community Investment Manager Kay Doragh will share the success of the STEM Careers Programme and explain how businesses of all sizes and sectors can make a meaningful difference to young people’s futures through simple, practical engagement activities.

Drawing on years of experience working with children and young people from primary school age through to graduates, Kay will provide advice, top tips and quick-win ideas for employers interested in supporting the next generation. From offering work experience placements and workplace visits to delivering school talks and assemblies, attendees will learn what works, why it works, and the positive impact it can have on both young people and businesses.

The session will also include a tour of Dogger Bank Wind Farm’s state-of-the-art Operations and Maintenance Base at the Port of Tyne, including its impressive control room. The visit will demonstrate the value of giving young people the opportunity to see behind the scenes of a workplace and experience the world of work first-hand.

Only one representative per business please as numbers are limited.

This event is part of the Building a Stronger South Tyneside campaign—an evolving, employer-led programme of events designed to:
