Over 150 businesses have signed up to the South Tyneside Pledge since it launched 12 months ago. Pledgees range from large organisations such as Tyne Coast College, Port of Tyne and Hitachi and Equinor through to key local firms small firms and voluntary organisations .
All organisations are committing to do everything they can to spend, recruit and support the local area to help residents and businesses. This Business Talk shines a light on some of the fantastic work that has been going on. From organisations signing up and taking part in jobs fairs, to taking on apprentices, hosting work placements, enabling staff to volunteer within the borough and offering warm spaces to our residents this winter.
The Chief Executive of South Tyneside Council, Jonathan Tew, is joined by a number of Pledge organisations to discuss the impact that some of this work if having across the borough and to look at ways to grow and expand the Pledge.
Guests include: Alan Metcalfe, Commercial Director at Zenith People; Angela Todd, Director of Goldfinch Estate Agents and Head of South Shields Football Club Foundation Steve Camm.
