After an investment of at least £37m, North East Screen (formerly Northern Film + Media), the screen industries development agency for the North-East, launched its new name, brand and programme of events earlier this year.
The agency is now gearing up to meet the challenge of increasing activity by creating new partnerships, rebranding their successful business model, and creating vibrant industry sector communities.
This will enhance and develop the skills that make the North East the place to create excellence in the world of TV and film.
In this Business Talk, Ian Farrar was joined by Alison Gwynn, Chief Executive of North East Screen who is leading the resurgence of the TV and Film industry in the North East. From providing marketing leadership at the Centre for Life to being instrumental in the planning and development of Seven Stories. Her role at North East Screen is to drive strategic development identifying new sources of revenue and ensuring North East Screen is best placed to serve the growing industry.
Now working with the North East Screen Industries Partnership (NESIP) and closely with the BBC, Alison is leading the organisation to champion filming in the region, developing skills and talent to help the industry thrive.
