Cottam Brush Ltd, based in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear, have announced that Alan Crook is set to become the first Managing Director outside of the Cottam family in the company’s 164-year history.
Having worked for Cottam Brush for over 20 years, Alan was recently promoted from his position as Manufacturing Director.
He will be bringing his extensive experience supporting previous MD, Ben Cottam, in managing both manufacturing and distribution areas of the business as it moves into the post-pandemic world.
With a background in engineering, he has held previous roles at Crabtree of Gateshead and Harkers Engineering Ltd, and while at Cottam has been involved in managing projects including the company’s move from Sunderland to Hebburn, and the establishing of their Chinese office, based in Suzhou in the Jiangsu Province.
Alan said;
I am honoured to be the first person outside of the Cottam family to take on the role of MD at Cottam. I think my experience and the insights I’ve gained as Manufacturing Director, along with the close relationships I’ve built with my team make for an exciting next stage of the Cottam business.
