Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service TEAM Programme

Location: All South Tyneside

A delivery partner of the King’s Trust, TWFRS deliver the TEAM Programme – a free, 12-week personal development programme for 16-25 year olds who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

TEAM offers a group of up to 12 young people an opportunity to take part in activities including a 4-night activity residential, a community project and a work placement. A comprehensive timetable also incorporates a range of other added value activities including career guidance sessions such as CV building and mock interviews. This full-time scheme of learning allow young people to develop their employability skills and confidence and helps them to take their next steps.

We work with many organisations across South Tyneside, with partners signposting young people to TEAM, as we signpost learners on to employment or training providers in the region as part of our career guidance remit.
We link with groups who benefit from our community projects, where we have carried out funded projects including gardening, landscaping, painting and decorating for organisations across South Tyneside.
We also use local organisations to source work placement opportunities, which have in some cases led to further volunteering or even offers of employment.

The programme is free to join, does not impact benefits and travel costs can be reimbursed. Eligibility requirements: aged 16-25 and NEET.

Team runs Monday-Friday 9:15am – 3pm, based at South Shields Community Fire Station.
New courses begin every January, May and September.
