METEC Cathodic Protection Ltd is a South Shields–based engineering and manufacturing business specialising in sacrificial anodes and cathodic protection systems for offshore energy, ports, harbours, shipbuilding and marine infrastructure.
Operating from a purpose-built foundry in South Tyneside, METEC designs and manufactures high-performance aluminium and zinc anodes used to prevent corrosion on critical steel structures in harsh marine environments. Our work supports offshore wind, oil and gas, ports, jetties, vessels, and subsea assets across the UK and international markets.
Part of the wider Metec Group with manufacturing facilities in the UK, Italy and Tunisia, we offer full in-house capability — from engineering design and quality control through to fabrication, testing and delivery. The business is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified and employs a skilled local workforce, creating high-value manufacturing and engineering jobs in South Tyneside.
