Key Community is a South Tyneside charity preventing youth homelessness and tackling poverty. For over 30 years, it has helped young people aged 16–24 build safe, stable and independent futures, working in partnership with South Tyneside Council, Depaul UK and Places for People.
Alongside accommodation services, Key delivers prevention and intervention, and wellbeing services, equipping young people with the skills, confidence and resilience to thrive in education, employment and training.
Key also works with the wider community through both immediate crisis support and longer-term, community-led initiatives that promote dignity, inclusion and wellbeing.
In partnership with Churches Together South Tyneside, Key delivers the Key to Life Foodbank, providing emergency food support through a referral system for people experiencing crisis.
Key Community Bus is open to everyone, regardless of income or circumstances, providing access to affordable food while helping reduce food waste, strengthen community connections and prevent people from reaching crisis point.
