Impact Family Services

Impact Family Services supports adults, young people and children experiencing domestic abuse. We provide trauma-informed, wrap-around support for individuals and families across South Tyneside, from age 4.
Our experienced staff team provide 1-1 support in risk assessment, safety planning and emotional and practical support, as well as group programmes to help build confidence, remove feelings of guilt and shame and develop tools to help people live their lives free of fear and abuse.
We provide in-house counselling to anyone we work with who requires it, ensuring our clients get the help they need, when they need it.
As well as our core professional support, we provide additional help when needed, such as support with finding safe accommodation, support to report the abuse to the police, support in court, along with providing basic necessities such as toiletries, clothing, door and window locks, removal services, food parcels and personal safety devices.
Every year, we hold a Christmas campaign for donations of gifts for children and young people of the families we support.
As well as personal support, we provide workplace Domestic Abuse Champions training to employers from all sectors across the North East. This ensures companies have key people who are trained to provide to colleagues who disclose abuse, the support and sign-posting they need and to ensure their workplace is a safe environment for them.
With one of the highest rates of domestic abuse in the country, we provide a much needed service for all residents of South Tyneside, regardless of age, gender, race, religion or social class.
