Hospitality and Hope

Location: All South Tyneside

Hospitality & Hope is a South Tyneside Charity tackling Food Insecurity and helping those in need to self-reliance, empowerment and independence. Offering support through Community Shops, Food Hub, Free Family Activities, Food Education and more! How can we help?

At Hospitality and Hope our shared vision is:- “For the Community of South Tyneside to live with an increased sense of hope for a positive and self-reliant future.”

Our Priorities are:

– To reduce food insecurity
– To improve wellbeing
– To reduce homelessness
– To influence those in power to deliver change

Each day we see first hand how a lack of ‘Hope’ through difficult circumstances, whatever they may be, can affect a person’s outlook and their future. South Tyneside is, unfortunately, the 6th most deprived borough in Employment; 9th most deprived in Health Deprivation and Disability.

Through access to our services, we look to respond to the crisis that each person is facing in a practical way, through our mission to deliver crisis relief and long-term support to individuals and families in our community.

Through our crisis support, free family activities, community shops and homelessness support, we offer practical help to people affected with food poverty related issues such as debt, benefits, addiction, homelessness, employability and mental health.

And, of course, our Community Shops offer much more than affordable food. They’re spaces to connect, which create a sense of belonging and friendship; crucially, they provide opportunities for residents to reconnect.
