Early Steps SEND Consultancy provides specialist support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the North East of England. The service works with early years settings, schools, childminders, and families to promote early identification, inclusive practice, and improved outcomes for children aged 0–5.
Led by Laura, a qualified teacher and Early Years SENCO with a Master’s in Education, PGCE in Primary Education, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), and Legal Practice Course (LPC), the consultancy brings a unique combination of educational and legal expertise to SEND support.
Services include SEND audits, SENCO support, EHCP guidance, advocacy for families navigating the SEND system, observations and assessment reports, parent consultations, staff training, and policy development. The service supports both professionals and parents to understand processes, challenge decisions where appropriate, and secure the right provision for children.
The mission of Early Steps SEND Consultancy is to empower families and professionals with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to support children with additional needs at the earliest stage, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive, access appropriate provision, and reach their full potential.
