Cleadon Cricket Club is a friendly, ambitious and community-focused cricket club based in Cleadon, South Tyneside. Formerly known as Simonside Cricket Club, we rebranded to better represent our local community and our ambition to build a thriving club for players, families and supporters of all ages and abilities.
We offer competitive league cricket alongside friendly and social cricket, with opportunities for experienced players, beginners and anyone looking to get involved in the sport. Our club is continually growing, with ambitions to establish additional senior teams and a junior section.
We have successfully run All Stars Cricket programmes for children aged 5–8, providing a fun and welcoming introduction to cricket for young players. Building on this, we are planning to launch our junior section in 2027, starting with an Under 9 team and then continuing to grow our junior pathway in the years that follow.
As a volunteer-run community club, we are committed to developing not only our players but also our facilities, volunteers and wider community links. We work with local organisations and businesses and welcome sponsorship and partnership opportunities that help us continue to grow.
