Goldfinch Estate Agents, located at Fowler Street and Station Road of South Shields and Hebburn respectively, have signed up to the South Tyneside Pledge, following the opening of a second branch in Hebburn.
With over 100 years of combined experience in the property industry and a series of prestigious awards under its belt, the company puts North East prosperity at the heart of its operation.
Company Director Angela Todd and her team have an inherent interest in supporting fellow South Tyneside businesses and working to keep money within the local economy.
The acclaimed estate agents now employs 11 local people following the opening of their Hebburn HQ – an exciting development that has arrived due to a soaring housing market and astute business decisions.
Aside from delivering an exceptional standard of service for homeowners, Angela has created Litter and Laugh Walk; an environmentally-friendly social group that brings together members of the community to combat the devastating impact of litter on the region’s marine wildlife.
Angela said:
“We are massive advocates of supporting local businesses, helping the community wherever possible and championing all aspects of the area. The entire team at Goldfinch consists of local people and we are just incredibly passionate about South Tyneside.
“Signing up to the South Tyneside Pledge was a simple decision for us. We were already collaborating with nearby schools to offer kids apprenticeships and work experience, so committing to the Pledge was easy. The objectives and ethos behind the Pledge very much aligns with our thinking.”
Having won a series of highly prestigious accolades such as the British Property Awards and United Kingdom Property Awards, Goldfinch has now set its sights on ambitious growth plans as they look to continue its run of success into the future.
Angela added: “The goal is to open even more premises across the borough and continue hiring people from across the local area. We are looking forward to what the future holds for Goldfinch Estate Agents and South Tyneside.”
Cllr Tracey Dixon, Leader of South Tyneside Council, said:
“Goldfinch Estate Agents are an important name in our local business community, and we are delighted that the borough plays a pivotal role in their future ambitions.
“It’s fantastic that South Tyneside continues to flourish following Covid-19 and all the challenges of the last couple of years. The Pledge is attracting a wonderful range of businesses, both big and small, who are committing to continuing boosting the prosperity of South Tyneside.”
Launched in January 2022, the South Tyneside Pledge aims to encourage local economic activity, reduce health inequalities, trim carbon emissions, and boost civic pride for the greater benefit of the entire Borough. The pledge sets out nine commitments, which are all about keeping things local, through a short report every six months.
