The live-stream will take place from 11.00am – 12noon\, and this can be watched here: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom big TV shows to Hollywood films\, the north-east of England’s film and television industry is undergoing a renaissance. \n\n\n\nRemediation work is now underway in Pallion\, Sunderland\, which will see Crown Works Studios become a premier destination for film\, TV and post-production excellence in the heart of the North East\, and this is already having an impact in South Tyneside. \n\n\n\nFilmmaker Libby Walker has recently set up a new company\, based in South Shields\, with the intention of producing films and television series in the region. Nana Peg Productions plans to produce an ongoing slate of feature films and tv shows in the region\, potentially bringing in millions in local spending and the creation of many jobs. \n\n\n\nLibby believes strongly in challenging the status quo of the current film industry and created Nana Peg as a means of telling Tyneside stories on the big and small screen; bringing the world to the North East and taking the North East to the world. \n\n\n\nRed Stamp Productions’ state of the art post-production studio\, also in South Shields\, compliments this offer and is the first of its kind in the North East\, designed to support the region’s growing film\, TV\, and creative industries. \n\n\n\nDirector Connor Langley is equally committed to keeping post-production talent within the region\, offering a cost-effective\, high-spec alternative for filmmakers\, content creators\, and production companies looking for high-quality post-production services outside of London and other major cities. \n\n\n\nIn this business talk we hear from both Libby and Connor\, about their passion for the screen industry and the North East\, and explore the wider economic impact and benefits this growing sector can bring to South Tyneside. \n\n\n\nPlease book to attend the event in person via EventBrite: Business Talk – The Screen Industry in South Tyneside Tickets\, Wed 7 May 2025 at 10:30 | Eventbrite
