Continuing its mission to celebrate and champion automotive excellence\, the NEAA Annual Awards will return in 2024\, with the winners to be announced at the dinner on Thursday 28th March at Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham. \n\n\n\nThe NEAA Annual Awards are designed to recognise some of the brightest talent and outstanding achievements of companies shaping the North East automotive industry. \n\n\n\nDonations will be awarded to schools and school engagement programmes to help raise awareness of the importance of STEM and the attractiveness of a career within the automotive sector. The awards are supported by some of the region’s most dynamic\, forward-looking and successful automotive companies and to date have donated over £60\,000 towards supporting future talent. \n\n\n\nThe NEAA Annual Awards present an excellent opportunity for companies and individuals to be publicly recognised and rewarded for their achievements. \n\n\n\nThe NEAA team is urging members to get involved. SUMMARY:Emerging Skills to Support the Transition to Net Zero
DESCRIPTION:To meet net zero carbon commitments\, the UK needs to invest in technologies for electrification\, meaning many employers and employees will need to up-skill\, re-skill and new-skill to meet the emerging demand. \n\n\n\nThe NEAA\, in partnership with North East Institute of Technology (NEIoT)\, will host this interactive session for industry and education providers to collaborate and collectively address the future skills needs to ensure the UK is at the forefront of the electric revolution. \n\n\n\nIndustry engagement is vital in shaping the skills and training demand. This session will enable employers to work in partnership with Institute of Technology training providers to steer funding opportunities\, whilst learning more about current available training. \n\n\n\nYou will hear from the leader of the National Skills Delivery for Electrification who will talk about the national plan for electrification skills\, which will provide a workforce with the required skills and capabilities to deliver the sectoral technology roadmaps. The session will also look at the regional plan for electrification skills and how the sector can work together to address higher level technical education to help close skills gaps in key STEM areas. \n\n\n\nWe invite industry to join this event to help shape your emerging skills requirements. \n\n\n\nThe session is open to all companies in the automotive sector and those in education. \n\n\n\nBook via Eventbrite
