Torgersens Chartered Accountants have been providing accounting, tax and business advice services to individuals and businesses in the North East for over 50 years. The business has had a presence in the centre of Jarrow since 2006, and also has offices in Sunderland and Gosforth.
In 2022, Torgersens became one of many businesses operating in the borough to sign the South Tyneside Pledge.
Martin Johnson, partner at Torgersens, said:
“The aims of the South Tyneside Pledge tie in very strongly with our Vision, Mission, and Values. In particular, our dedication to helping the North East become a vibrant, progressive, and stress-free place to work. People are at the heart of everything we do. We advise, nurture and share our knowledge to support growth and help reduce the stress of business life.
“We are regularly reviewing the commitments we’ve made to the pledge to ensure that we’re contributing in a meaningful way to this worthwhile project. It has given us a fresh way of looking at how we impact on the South Tyneside region, and I encourage all local businesses to consider taking an active part.”
More information about Torgersens’ core values can be found on their website.
Launched in January 2022, the South Tyneside Pledge aims to boost local economic activity, reduce health inequalities, cut carbon emissions and enhance civic pride for the benefit of the whole Borough. The pledge sets out nine commitments, which are all about keeping things local, through a short report every six months.
Organisations, public and private, big businesses and small firms, can sign up at any time and become part of the Pledge South Tyneside network at www.southtyneside.gov.uk
